Ginger Apple Cocktail {Made with Apple Infused Vodka}

This ginger apple cocktail takes one of my favorite things, fruit infused vodka and makes taste like fall.

When we were in Seattle for fall break, I had a Drizly delivery. Since I was with my daughter, I didn't want to hang out at bars or drag her into a liquor store. So I had Drizly deliver. I made a blackberry cocktail the first night. But the second night I had let the vodka I received infuse the flavors of an Aurora apple for 24 hours and then just combined with the leftover ginger ale.

Apple Infused Vodka

Infused vodka. Sounds hard but is so simple. I just put several apple slices in the bottom of a container and covered completely with vodka. Then put a lid on it, put it someplace dark and cool and forget about it for a day or two. Then remove apples and pour through a mesh strainer or cheesecloth and call it infused. Apple infused vodka actually leaves very few pieces of apple, so I didn't strain my apple infused vodka.

How to Make Ginger Apple Cocktail

In addition to the apple-infused vodka, I also added more fresh apple slices to the drink. Simply fill a nice tall glass up with an apple slice or two and ice. Pour about ⅓ of the glass with apple-infused vodka. Fill to the top with ginger ale. Stir to combine.

It is really that simple folks. I also had some smoked cheese from a great local cheese place at Pike Place Market, Beecher's Handmade Cheese with some slices of apples. My daughter finished off my ginger ale as she ate the famous cheese curds. I don't think I want fall to end.

Ingredients

• 1 apple sliced
• 1 cup vodka
• 5 cups of ginger ale

Instructions

Apple Infused Vodka

• Slice apple and put at least 3-4 thin slices in the bottom of a sealable container. Cover with vodka and let set in a dark, cool place for one to two days.
• When ready to use, remove and discard apples. Strain out pieces, if needed.

Ginger Apple Cocktail

• In a tall glass fill with one or two thin apple slices and ice.
• Fill a third of the way with apple infused vodka. Fill remainder with ginger ale.
• Stir and serve.
