I have an obsession with this smoked gouda cheese dip I get from my local Kroger in their Murray's Cheese Shop. Straight up addiction. If I know this dip is in my fridge, I cannot stop thinking about it. I have made my friends and family obsessed with this smoked gouda cheese too. I have probably spent hundreds of dollars on this dip and decided it was time to figure out how to make it. Now, I can have Murray's smoked gouda cheese dip whenever I want it.
Murray's smoked gouda cheese dip is a simple cheese dip recipe using four simple ingredients of gouda, mayonnaise, red onion, and Worcestershire sauce that creates complex flavors leaving people wondering what is in it. While the ingredients are not complex or complicated, they merge together for a huge amount of flavor for a perfect cheese dip for crackers or vegetables.
Murray's Smoked Gouda Cheese Dip Copycat Recipe
The base of any good dip is mayonnaise, right! This dip can be made with any cheese, but since the original is made with smoked gouda, I used smoked gouda. Plus I am a lover of any smoked cheese, especially smoked gouda. The smoked gouda and mayonnaise mixed together with onion set this dip up for success.
In a small bowl with a lid, combine the mayonnaise, shredded gouda, and finely minced onions. While this right here would be incredibly delicious, a little bit of Worcestershire sauce will take these flavors up to a new level of deliciousness.
Mix the ingredients together with a spoon and then top off with some additional onions. I love me some red onion. The results are simply addicting. I love eating this with the super crispy gluten-free nut crackers. Grab some wheat thins or butter crackers or even celery. This smoked gouda cheese dip makes everything better.

I was looking for a Copycat Recipe for Kroger's Smoked Gouda Cheese Dip and found one, but also found this one. I liked the addition of Worhestershire sauce, which the other recipe did not include. I used a vegan Worchestershire sauce (Kroger's brand happens to be vegan). The recipe is exactly as what I've purchased premade from Ralph's (a store here in Southern California under the Kroger's umbrella). It's really delicious. My favorite way to enjoy it is simply on Triscuits (I used the Smoked Gouda flavor because it's what was in my cupboard).

I think you meant 2 drops Worcestershire Sauce not 2 teaspoons. One teaspoon was awful and turned the dip muddy.

I’m so stoked to try this!!!! We refer to this dip as “crack cheese” in my house - everyone who tries it is immediately addicted! There’s two containers in my fridge currently, but I decided to look for a recipe, since I’m always afraid they’ll stop carrying it. Thank you so much!!!!!

I'm so excited to have found this recipe! I'm SO sad that I don't have a red onion on hand. The author is right, the Murray's dip at Kroger is addictive... I need to make a special trip for an onion now!!
Thanks for the copycat recipe!

Thank you for posting this! My Kroger stopped offering it, and I've been craving it for several years. I love to eat it with red pepper jelly on Blue Diamond Artisan crackers with a cold, crisp apple.

Can you bake it to make a hot dip? Thank you!
Leah Beyer
I am sure you can. I just never have.

Can you warm this recipe up and serve it warm?
Leah Beyer
I am sure you could. I haven't tried it this way, but it would be delicious.

Hi Leah,
When you say 1 cup of cheese, do you mean 1 cup grated or 8oz? Because 1 cup grated is not 8oz. Thank you!

I spread this on French bread that is sliced lengthwise (use about 1/2 of the loaf to cut lengthwise) and broil it.
It is so delicious when it is on top of French bread and toasted or broiled.

I also love the flavor of this dip, but I hate that Kroger uses a mayo containing soy. I consider soy poisonous for humans, especially males, it destroys their testosterone. So I love that I now have this recipe and I can use my fav mayo which uses Avocado oil instead of soy lecithin or any other oil.

Followed this recipe just as printed and this turned out just like what I have had from Kroger's. My family loved it and it is addictive!

I discovered this amazing dip last night in Kroger looking for a healthy snack and i stumbled across this dip!! While its not the healthiest snack in the world but it is delicious!! I will always look for this dip in Kroger. If you love different dips with crackers like i do this is a winner!!

Hello, thank you for sharing this copy cat recipe! I wanted to ask when you say 1 cup of gouda do you mean 1 cup shredded cheese OR 8 oz shredded cheese?
Because 1 cup of shredded cheese does not equal 8oz. I'm assuming 8oz of shredded smoked gouda.
Thank you,
Lisa
